Creative Workshops on the Farm
27th of September
A Splash of colour - Water Colour Art Workshop
Ever feel as if you have no time for art or crafting in your day to day life?
Take Time Out in Nature and Learn a New Craft
Most people live busy lives and it seems as if there is always something more pressing to do than take time to draw, paint or craft.
What if there was time set aside for you to concentrate on producing something beautiful, amidst stunning surroundings?
At Jacksons we value time out to spend on art and creativity. In fact, in her spare time Jasmine paints, sings and plays guitar, but as a full-time mum and businesswoman she knows finding ‘spare’ time is tricky.
Which is why we’ve teamed up with local artists to create these day long courses just for you. A space to create in the picturesque Scottish Borders countryside.
On our working family farm, we host local artists delivering workshops such as watercolour painting and wool craft.
With a range of art and craft day courses suitable for different levels of experience you will find one to spark your creativity.
Each course gives you the chance to enjoy nature, be inspired and learn a new skill from an experienced artist.
Whether you produce art in any form or even if you haven’t tried your hand at anything creative in a while, our courses offer you a day immersed in natural surroundings, focusing on a creative activity far away from the clamour of daily life.

What to Expect
The backdrop of the farm and the expertise of our facilitators offer a unique experience of creative fulfillment.
The day begins with a guided tour of Kersheugh Farm as you are chauffeured in farmer style by Land Rover drawn trailer across the rolling farmland.
Soak up the expansive views of the surrounding countryside to relax and inspire you. Range though fields of cows and sheep, stopping at any point if we see something of interest.
There will be a different focus on each tour depending on the course. Painters can sketch and take photos. On the ‘Sheep to Shawl’ workshop you’ll enjoy a sheep shearing demo.
Any equipment needed will be transported so you can take everything you need to capture the moment from paper and pencils to cameras.
After the tour we return to the Cart Shed – our renovated barn – where you can put that inspiration to work. Guided by an experienced local artist you will learn new techniques or traditional skills.
After a busy morning we pause at midday to enjoy a delicious farmhouse lunch and chat about our morning’s activities.
We continue our workshop after lunch and by the end of the afternoon you will have the results of your day to take home as a gift for a friend or memento for yourself.
Whether you are a complete beginner or improving your skills our creative workshops offer the perfect space away from the day to day to explore your artistic side within the inspiring Scottish Borders countryside.
