What's new at the farm this year?
Starting with: WHY have we made some changes at Jacksons at Jedburgh for 2022?
Parents are under so much pressure these days and we’re supposed to look like we're coping superbly too. Not many of us are. Not many find this parenting thing easy. Stay at home parents or working parents, it’s hard for us ALL. Wonderful but hard work, a juggle, a rollercoaster.
You might think farm kids are all wholesome, muddy booted and rosy cheeked but I’m feeling just as guilty as the next parent about how much time my kids spend inside glued to an iPad. Often I have so much to do that flinging a screen in front of them to stop the constant bickering is just easier.
Like me, lots of you will have missed out on making memories during the lockdowns we have been through.
That's why I've thought long and hard about how we can make Jacksons at Jedburgh EVEN better.

Ch Ch Ch Changes...
With this in mind we have changed a few things at the farm this year to make your day out a little less stressful. When you do peel them away from their screens so you can make some family memories here’s how wonderful your visit to the farm will be…
ONE
Day tickets have changed to ARRIVE ANYTIME. This is because I know it’s a total nightmare trying to get anywhere with kids. There’s no rush to meet an arrival time now, you can book your date and just pitch up when you’re ready. Coffee will literally be just a few steps from the car park. We’ve got your back.

TWO
We will have an eclectic assortment of ‘useful items’ at reception. Maybe you’re organised but the amount of times I’ve arrived somewhere with no nappies or forgotten my kids gloves is ridiculous. If you’ve forgotten something and we have it behind the desk then we will be delighted to help you out.

THREE
The poultry area is being extended!
If there is one thing we learnt last year it is that kids LOVE chickens!
Never fear... the usual play space right next to it remains ENCLOSED! YES you can still rest at a picnic bench, enjoy a hot drink and not loose sight of your little farmers.

FOUR
There will be a circular trail, no more turning back to the farm! A little longer to spend running energy off those frantic little legs you brought with you to the farm.
Surprise additions will appear on the trail for Easter and Halloween.

FIVE
Fenwick is doing all the farm experiences and tours.
Yes, he’s better at it than me 😂 and he’s the REAL farmer! What’s not to love.
